Martin OM-21

2005

This guitar has been well cared for, is easy playing, with a bright, rich, beautiful tone. It is a very responsive player with a simple visual beauty.

The top is solid sitka spruce, nicely silked. The back and sides are a very dark, chocolate brown, beautiful solid East Indian rosewood. The finish is full gloss nitro. This instrument has a 25.4" scale, and is very comfortable to hold. The Martin OM-21 has scalloped 1/4" top braces. The mahogany neck (*not* "select hardwood" but true mahogany) has a 1.75" wide nut width, with 2.25" string spacing at the bridge. It is joined to the body with a traditional dovetail joint.

The fingerboard and bridge are rosewood. Factory installed bone nut and saddle, tortise binding on the top and back. The tuners are Martin-branded Gotohs and are rock steady.

The original plush-lined Martin 630 molded hardshell case with Martin logo is included. This guitar has been case-kept.

Its condition, though used, is excellent with only minor playing wear. There are no dings on the top, and fret wear is minimal. Martin has recently increased the list price on this model to $2599. It is likely the prices of used OM-21s will likewise increase in the near future.

The photos were taken at various times. As you can see, the top has darkened somewhat.
